I’m a fan of Rue La La, an online shopping site that features daily deals on anything from cocktail dresses to standing mixers to trips to the Almafi Coast. It’s a great site for something you definitely know you want but haven’t purchased because of the price. Today they’re featuring all things wedding–dresses, shoes, suits, gifts, etc. For example, right now they have wedding gowns for under $400. If you’re still looking for a dress, I’d recommend at least checking out Rue La La today.
At the Rue La La blog today, Abby Larson of Style Me Pretty (a fav!) responds to real brides’ questions about how to have a stylish wedding. A few of my favorite points, with my comments:
- For a cold weather wedding: “Consider adding a cute sweater or tweed jacket and you’ll be layering in luxe style.” (Tweed would be so cute with our library theme!)
- “If you love the idea of doing a DIY project yourself but aren’t totally in love with turning your apartment into a construction site, consider a couple smaller projects that don’t require quite as much time and elbow grease, like stir sticks or favor bag labels. You can easily download the template, cut out, and create.” (The favor bag labels would be awesome with our cookie table. And I do know my way around a printer.)
- “There are lots of gorgeous wedding shoes out there but you don’t have to necessarily be looking for “bridal”-specific options…Keep your eyes peeled for a shoe that catches your eye. The rules have changed – don’t be afraid to wear a bold flat or a jeweled sandal.” (I’m psyched that you don’t have to match your dress anymore. But I’m definitely looking for something comfortable as well; I want to be able to honeymoon blister-free.)
